State of the Union

Most Wealthy: The Misthorse / The Forge Fathers

Most Happy: Office of Marshalls

A Den of Vice and Corruption

There is growing dizcontent among union citizens that the leaders would be foolish not to acknowledge

When will it end? Our beautiful Union rots under the filth of drugs, contraband and *spits* Jazz. While our leaders bicker and squabble, the slow influx of Dixie and City concoctions has turned to an avalanch. It corrupts out lives, our society, our children!

Clearly, as this evil sound has pervaded, our people have fallen to philandry, to sloth, to addiction and to crime. Well now we have had enough! The honest citizens call out to our leaders to bring an end to this corruption, and ban the imports of the Dizie hooligans from our land!

New Appointment of the Head Priest

Tutor Hawthorne has been promoted to High Priest of the Church of the Founders. Tutor Hawthorne of the Storm Acadamy has been very active in the defence of the Archipalago, and was suggested shortly after Arabella Crimsons retirement from the position. While Tutor Hawthone has not been particually active in the Church before now, his work in the Storm Academy has prepared him well for the responsibility of the position of High Priest.

While there is some resentment from certain members of the Church that a relative new comers has taken the position, he has a lot of support throughout the rest of the Union. The postion also comes with a position on the closed council which Tutor Hawthorn is expected to take up shortly.

Rumours are rife that Tutor Hawthone is going to be a much more liberal High Priest, toneing down the zealous and conservative Doctrine that charecterised Arabella's administration. As his first act, Tutor Hawthorne gave a service to the populas of the city to try raise the morale which has taken a battering with the recent unrest on the city fragment.

The Glorious People's Republic

With the convincing arguments of the Glorious People's Republic spreading through the Broken World like wildfire, causing dissent among the other colonies, a joint venture between the Fallen and the Union as been put into place to counter the propaganda. Over the past few months problems with the GPR philosophy have been spread, and while it has so far only had limited success, it is expected to become more widespread and effective in the next few months.

In other news the Peoples' Glorious Collective has been set up within the Union. This is an organisation that follows the ideals of the GPR, but operates within the Union.

Mist Academy

A new Mist Academy has been established in the Union. Similar in structure to that of the Storm academy, it will be responsible for the training of Young mist mages, to help them develop thier magic, as well as how to use it responsibly, and make sure they don't pose a threat to Union citizens. The initiative was proposed by Department S, but heavily supported by Grand Marshall Kroy, who got the motion through the Closed Council. Funds have been allocated to the construction of facilities, and the hiring of Tutors.

The Academy of Mists Need YOU!

Calling all Mist Mages!

The Legions of Unity have established a new Academy of Mists to train the mist-born of our great Union to reach their full ability. All those who know the purpose and force of the mists in their hearts can now be schooled to safely use its powers for the good of their fellow man, and for their own future careers. Every mist-mage can now experience and, perhaps, for the best and brightest, eclipse the pride of those who have trained at the respected Academy of Mists.

And it's not just students we need. The Academy of Mists will be selecting a headmaster or headmistress. If you have the skills, the loyalty and the dedication then you could fill this vital post and put your stamp on the future of the Union's mage forces. Other positions are open too for those who want to serve the Union in nurturing our gifted youth.

Join the Academy of Mists and serve the Union. Would you like to know more?

Prison Facilities

At last the people of the Union can sleep at night. Marshall Craddock and Sarrenn have constructed a secure facility for the containment of criminals. The temporary facility that was in use after the prison named “The Hole” was taken over by the prisoners, and subsequently retaken by force is being taken down, and the prisoners transfered.

Franklyn Meade taken ill

The Guildmaster has been taken gravly ill, things do not look good, and it appears a new guildmaster needs to be found to replace him, both in his duties in the Guild and on the Closed council. Franklyns term in office has been charecterised by a large increase in revenue, but also corruption.

The Forge Fathers Compensate

The Forge Fathers have reached an agreement with the group who had issues with them, before it went to the closed council. This was largly due to the arbitration done by Ms Evelyn Minver.
