Fixing Unity - BP (C)

  1. Clone the body of Unity / Flux
I think this is actually a much more minor technical breakthrough than it might seem. All I get out of this is an embryo. I can't build a clone army. I can't use it to make a perfect impersonator of a person. Without more research or some magic it's just a test-tube.
  2. Use Spirit Magic - Blood & Bone 3 - to age the body to the same age as Unity / Flux. This is the current outstanding problem area. I don't have a good solution yet.
  3. Use Passion Magic to copy Flux's personality to the new body. This will be performed by Caul of the Knights of the Rose.
  4. Use Mist Magic to erase memories as necessary to ensure Unity ends up running the original body and Flux is in charge of the clone body. This will hopefully be performed by Clintina.

Magics

Spirit Ritual - Complete - Sarr

The storm clouds above swirl and boil as if in anticipation of something big. Far below in a laboratory Sarr is performing the spirit ritual needed to age Flux's new body to maturity. The body itself is rapidly growing through infancy as sarr holds his hands on either side of her head. She is covered in a sheet to protect her modesty from those around monitoring both her and Sarr as he performs his ritual.

Lightning strikes down outside, the loud rumbles audible even deep inside the building. The storm mages present can feel the buildup of power, a slight pressure both outside and within themselves. Flux moves behind sarr as the body is seeming to near completion. As she moves past another clap of thunder rings around the room, lightning has struck the building they are in and all ths storm mages can feel it, in particular Sarr whose eyes glow with fire briefly and Flux whose skin becomes tinged with chaos. And as she moves past him from her outstretched hand a jolt passes, just like a static shock into Sarr whose fire is overlaid by the chaos. Between his hands the new body of Flux arches as every muscle contracts. Storm energy hits the body as it gasps a deep breath.

“She's alive…” says Sarr as he steps back, his job complete. “And I think the new body is definitely going to be able as well. Now we just need to transfer the mind over, right?”

Sarr smiles at flux, “We'll have you in your new body in no time, I'm sure.”

GM Note - Flux's body has much lower level storm magic than Unity's, but is still stormtouched.

Passion Ritual - Complete - Caul

Flux settles on the table once more, her mindless new-born twin beside her on the next table. Time is now of the essence; Flux's must be transferred to the new body before it can develop an identity of its own. The team move even more swiftly.

Caul places his hands on each identical woman's forehead, the Crown of Unity shining on his head, a thin scrap of cloth preventing it from touching his skin. He begins the ritual to copy Flux's mind. For at least a moment she will occupy two bodies, or so he has reassured all there.

Mist Ritual - Complete - Ritz/Clintina

The Mist Mages, Captain Ritz Herald and Clintina Spacepuny, step forward too. Captain Herald has had bad experiences before of using Mist to save another's soul, but her bravery does not fail her. Clintina chews a cheroot, her expression perfectly laconic. The lightning seems for a moment to pick up a staccato rhythm and then it passes. She will share the danger, protecting Captain Heralds mind from the warping powers of the Mist and at the same time endangering her own.

Captain Herald is surrounded by a thin veil of roiling mist as Caul's chanting continues. Those who watch can see her form fading from view and at the same time was is visible becoming distorted as she summons up an immense strength of Mist.

The lightning and mist seem to compete, one to illuminate and the other to hide, as Caul's chanting reaches a climax. Both bodies, one with too many personalities and one with too few, spasm and gasp. Mist flows from Captain Herald's hands in a chaotic flow into the mouths and noses and ears of the twitching bodies as the thunder sounds in a continuing ceasless roll. The shape of her head is wrong, like wax melting, when Clintina spits out the cheroot, grasps it and twists it impossibly back to its true form.

On the table both bodies are still.

Everyone rushes forward, sudden terror caused by their stillness.

A tattooed form sits up and with scant expression says, “Thank you”. The other unmarked body opens its eyes and simply miles knowingly.
