(C) Spying on the Post - 3BP

A wide scale spy network using the post office as cover for your coming and going.

It uses mail sampling as determined by destination, origin, handwriting, ease of opening without detection, ticking, oozing etc. Care is of paramount importance to ensure no one finds out whats going on.

The core is the postmistress sorting room, filled with letters as much as possible (increased chaos to confuse the unwary) to sort out 'difficult cases' (smudged addresses etc.).

Also includes a series of self addressed letters under a number of names containing what might, on first glance, appear to be code. The letters will be sealed in varying states from 'very well' to 'almost not at all'. This is to help monitor and check for signs that someone else is infiltrating the post and tampering with letters.

When complete, this project will provide a 4 slot Spymail resource, capable of targetting any person or group which uses the postal service. Slots can be used…

  1. To gain regular access to one other allegiance brief.
  2. To provide a significant edge on spying actions.
  3. To provide a significant edge against anyone trying to spy on your postal service.

Note, the post office itself is a significant project. Upgrading the post office will improve the effect.

Also note, while your subterfuge is major (making you almost impossible to catch), your investigation is significant, meaning the quality of dirt you dig up has room for improvement.

With additional work to recruit informants a fifth slot is available; this can be used to access an additional allegiance brief, or to assist with spying actions. It may be more appropriate in some situations and give additional bonuses, but can not be used to provide an edge against others trying to spy.
