It is perfectly possible to be in the same clan as another player, although we are restricting this to 3 PCs per clan. These are the consequences if you do this;
Obviously you have the same clan traits as the other players in your clan.
Clan NPCs will be shared between the players in a clan, although the NPC can have a different attitude to different players (allowing them to purchase different NPC traits).
It will be much harder to keep things secret from people when they're a relative. Not that you'd hide things from your fellow clansmen, of course…
There is no limit on PC influence rank. All PCs in a clan can have rank 3 influence. The clan might not have time to follow all instructions it is given however. The maximum influences per clan is shown below. This is the combined maximum of all players in the clan.
Magnitude of Action | Number of Actions Per turn for the clan |
---|---|
Minor | 9 |
Significant | 3 |
Major | 1 |
These numbers are the amount of extra work you can feasibly expect people to do without side-effects. This means there will be a conversion ratio of three level 1 actions being equivalent to one level 2 action, and three level 2 actions being equivalent to one level 3 action; in terms of clan resources.
If there is a conflict between players in the same clan over resources, the player with the higher influence will get the amount they want, and the player with less will have to make do with what is left. If clan influence is equal between the two then it is treated as a contested action, and the system in Task Resolution is used to determine who gets the resources.
It is also possible for two different clans to be linked, whether as trading partners, bitter enemies or friendly neighbours. It is also possible for one clan to be subservient to another, although in this case the PC in the subservient clan will have to expend a large amount of effort keeping his clan happy about their station and is advised to take high clan influence.
